Chief executive officer (CEO)

What is a Chief Executive Officer?

A Chief Executive Officer, or CEO, is the highest-ranking executive in a company, responsible for making major corporate decisions and managing the overall operations and resources of a company. The CEO is the main point of communication between the board of directors and corporate operations.

The CEO's responsibilities include developing and implementing high-level strategies, making major corporate decisions, managing the overall resources and operations of the company, and acting as the main point of communication between the board of directors and the corporate operations. The CEO often has a seat on the board; in some cases, they are the chair. In startups, the CEO often plays a more hands-on role, making day-to-day decisions and often working alongside their team.
