Cash management

What is cash management?

Cash management refers to the process by which a business manages its financial operations, including collecting receivables, managing payments, and ensuring liquidity. It's essential to the financial health of a business and ensures that the company can meet its obligations.

In more detail, effective cash management involves tracking a company’s cash flow – where money is coming from, where it's going, and when – to ensure that the business always has enough cash on hand to cover expenses. It also includes investing idle cash efficiently and negotiating good payment terms with suppliers and customers. In the startup world, cash management is crucial as it can be a matter of survival, especially in the early stages when the company is not yet profitable.
