What do you need to run your small business more effectively?
The free trial is a working preview of Pilot — not a demo, not sample data. Your actual transactions, categorized and organized.

Enter your name, email, and company name. No credit card, no commitment. Your 15-day trial starts from your first login.

Pilot starts importing and categorizing transactions immediately. Your profit & loss statement, balance sheet, and cash flow report generate automatically — no manual data entry required.
The free trial gives you a full preview of Pilot's bookkeeping software so you can make an informed decision — not a watered-down demo.
Automatically categorized transactions surfaced in a clear P&L — view by month or week.
A full balance sheet using Pilot's standard chart of accounts, plus a cash flow statement.
Current bank balance with cash in and out from all connected accounts — viewable monthly or weekly.
Ask anything about your transactions, cash flow, or spending patterns. No question limit during the trial.
Every imported transaction listed and categorized. Export to Excel or CSV at any time — your data is always yours.
Still have questions? Contact Sales to speak with an account executive.
The Pilot free trial is completely free — no credit card required. Signup takes about a minute and asks for your name, email, and company name. You'll connect your business bank accounts through Plaid after login, but we never use those connections for billing purposes.
The free trial lasts 15 days, starting from your first login. If you don't convert to a paid plan, your trial account is automatically deleted after 30 days of inactivity following the trial — 45 days after signup at the latest.
Yes, in many cases. Contact Sales to speak with an account executive about extending your trial. If there is buying intent and you need more time to evaluate Pilot, the team can typically extend the trial window.
Pilot does not sell or share your data. Your bank and credit card connections are made through Plaid — the same connection layer used by most major U.S. financial apps. If you don't convert to a paid plan, your account and imported transaction history are automatically deleted. You can also end any bank connection through Plaid at any time.
Pilot supports direct connections to Brex, Ramp, and Mercury. All other banks and credit cards connect through Plaid. Not every institution is supported during the trial — some require assistance from Pilot's operations team. If your bank doesn't appear, check plaid.com/docs/institutions or contact sales to discuss paid plan options.
A failed connection is usually a credentials issue or a temporary network problem between your bank and Plaid. Wait a few minutes and try again — this resolves most issues. If the problem continues, contact Sales. Pilot's paid plans include more connection options and dedicated support.
Not during the free trial. Shopify, Stripe, payroll providers, and similar integrations are available on Pilot's paid plans. See pilot.com/pricing for plan details.
The trial uses cash-basis accounting and includes: a profit & loss statement with automatic categorization, a balance sheet using Pilot's standard chart of accounts, a cash flow statement, cash totals viewable monthly or weekly, current bank balance with cash in/out, monthly cash spend across accounts, and a full transaction list. For accrual-basis accounting and tax-ready books, see Pilot's paid plans at pilot.com/pricing.
Cash basis is the fastest way to see money in and money out, making it ideal for a 15-day preview. Accrual-basis accounting — where transactions are recorded when invoiced rather than when paid — requires more setup and review to be accurate. Pilot supports accrual basis on Core and Custom plans, where the team can configure it properly.
Yes. Export reports and transaction data to Excel or CSV at any time. The data is yours. Note that trial reports are a preview and should not be used to file taxes or apply for a loan. For professionally prepared books, contact sales about Pilot's paid plans.
No — there is no limit on Pilot AI chats during the free trial. Your chats are tied to your account and visible only to you. Pilot uses aggregated analytics and quality evaluations to improve the product, but does not share this data outside the company.
No. Your bank connections and synced data carry over when you move to a paid plan. Your login credentials stay the same unless you request a new account. There are a few edge cases — like if you want to continue using an existing QuickBooks Online account — where a new account may be required. Sales can walk you through those situations.
No. The free trial covers Pilot Essentials — the software-only plan where bookkeeping is handled by AI rather than a human bookkeeper. Pilot AI is available for in-app questions throughout the trial. Pilot's Core and Custom plans include an assigned bookkeeping team and a customer success manager. Custom also includes CFO services for strategic support.
Yes. Contact sales at any time to schedule a demo or talk through your business needs. Pilot AI handles in-app questions during the trial.
