Venture capitalist

What is a venture capitalist?

A venture capitalist (VC) is an investor who provides capital to startups or small businesses that have potential for long-term growth. VCs can be individuals or part of a venture capital firm.

Venture capitalists typically invest in startups in exchange for equity, or shares in the company. They aim to earn a significant return on their investment when the company becomes successful and either gets sold or goes public. VCs also often bring more than just money to a startup. They can provide strategic guidance, introductions to potential customers or partners, and help with hiring key team members.
